Christopher Allen

Christopher Allen is a self taught experimental artist. Growing up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he began to create through a variety of mediums finding his passion to be music. With a deeper connection to sound versus traditional music, Christopher started to make sound collages. At the age of 23 he introduced himself to the music scene as X24 and began playing shows throughout Pittsburgh at a variety of venues. The most notable being The Wood Street Galleries and Thee Eye. Thee Eye was a multi-use garage turned weekend flea market, tea house, and venue which he helped run. It was home to such shows as Psychic TV and allowed him to open for acts such as Daedalus. At the age of 27, Christopher decided to buy a one-way ticket to Portland, Oregon, a city he had never been to nor knew anyone in to further explore his love of life, adventure, art and experimentation. In his first two years in Portland he continued to make sound collages and held a monthly music night called Digital Organics while doing promotional work for venues like the Holocene, Someday Lounge, Roseland Theater, & On Air. At On Air during the Portland Burning Man Decompression party in 2007, Christopher met Ana Rugani. Ana is now his artistic partner and love. When they met, Christopher and Ana quickly realized they shared a passion for the arts and began discussing collaborative ideas giving birth to what is now Manifestation Facilitator. Now as one half of Manifestation Facilitator, Christopher’s roles within the project include but are not limited to: Development of Conceptual ideas, Booking, Digital Design, Sound Collagist, Marketing, and PR.

Christopher’s Artistic Statement:

“I create art to express my feelings about the world we live in today and hope it invokes dialog and pushes people out of their comfort zone.”
